Surviving Life Storms

You set out for your day and then it hits. Menacing clouds appear on the horizon of your life and quickly overtake you with an unexpected trial. The powerful winds of uncertainty threaten to overtake you. Tears fall like rain. Doubts rise as to if you will pull through.

Storms have a way of challenging our faith in God in unexpected ways.

In Acts 27 Paul faced a storm when he was sent to Rome aboard a ship. It’s late in the sailing season and before long they’re caught in a violent wind (27:14). Things look dire but Paul reassured the others on the ship:

“For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me, saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you (23-24, NASB).”

If you are in the middle of a life storm and things look hopeless, this very day God stands with you. Do not be afraid. The storm may not stop at this moment, but be assured that God will be with you helping you get through. It may test your faith, but hold on and trust Him.

Therefore, keep up your courage, men, for I believe God that it will turn out exactly as I have been told. – Acts 27:25, NASB
