Sometimes it’s hard to think that God wants to help bring order to our life. In chaotic moments, when things seem out of control, he offers a way to bring order to your life with His word. He knows you and all the little details in your life.
This is the same God who guided the Israelites out of the bondage of Egypt to a new place where he wanted to prosper them. Along the way he guided them with detailed instructions to get them to a better place. The level of detail is impressive. I see this in Numbers 2:1-34 where he tells the Israelites how to camp around the tabernacle.
Verse 1 opens with, “Now the LORD spoke to Moses and to Aaron, saying (NASB).” God then details which tribe should camp where in relation to the tabernacle. He starts with the tribe of Judah, designating them as the standard bearer and naming the army leaders Nahshon and Amminadab, and the number of men under them (3). From there he continues to name each tribe, the army leaders and the number of men under them. He gives order to a group of more than 600,000 men.
God knew each leader by name and the total men under each one. He gave them a plan to bring order to their camp as well as detailed instructions on how they should live with each other. Imagine the chaos if a million men, women and children did what they wanted, each person for themselves.
In the same way God knows you by name. He knows all the numbers under you from your finances, the number in your family, and your address. His Word spoken to you wants to bring order to your life, if you chose to listen and follow His instructions.
Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows. – Matthew 10:29-31, NASB
