In recognition of national poetry month, I am reposting some poems this month.
The waves crash
Pound the shore
Like so many times
They’ve done before
Impressions in sand
Of people who passed
Footsteps washed away
Our presence won’t last
Day soon ends
Surf pounds the shore
Beach clear and smooth
Impressions no more
New people tread
Where others did stand
Making their mark
In shifting sand
Tomorrow will dawn
As today fades away
Temporal steps
Are gone today

For we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. – 2 Corinthians 5:1 (NASB)
#Retrospective — This poem original posted November 4, 2021.
One of the lessons gathered from this blessed poem is that we follow so many others who have walked where we are at any given moment. We seldom know any of these other people, but we can bank on Jesus because He has walked where we are heading.
Great insight. Thanks for sharing. Blessings.
I like this a lot.
Thank you. Blessings.
