Raining Hope

Rain drops fall

From gray skies above

Droplets of water

On a pane of glass

One by by

Drops streams down

Along the window

Sad tears

The earth mourns

It wasn’t to be

Not like this

A fallen world

Rain soaks into

Porous ground below

Tears seeping in

To nourish new life

Under the dim sky

Rain clouds hang low

Watering with hope

Parched ground below

Are there any among the idols of the nations who give rain? Or can the heavens grant showers? Is it not You, O LORD our God? Therefore we hope in You, For You are the one who has done all these things. – Jeremiah 14:22 (NASB)

  1. I love the way you put into verse the hope we have in all that happens. God’s Word will not return to Him void. All we may mourn or rejoice, like you say, soaks in and God uses.
