A Heart to Heart With God

Very truly I tell you, you will weep and mourn while the world rejoices. You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy. – John 16:20 (NIV)

Prayer is a heart to heart with God. Prayer orients us toward God, away from ourself. Prayer brings God’s perspective to us. Prayer unites us with Christ, growing our trust in God. Prayer deepens our relationship with Christ. Prayer surrenders our will to God’s will. Through prayer our joy is made complete. On our own we can only manufacture a temporary joy that does not last, but God’s joy is eternal. May the Spirit of God fill us with this eternal joy.

Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full. – John 16:24

    1. Good point. I think a deep desire to relate to God, a heart for God, is at the core of prayer. Romans 8:26-27 comes to mind. Thanks for the comment. Blessings.
